A group of kids received a special visit from the Thunderbirds Tuesday afternoon.

Students at Orr Middle School listened to an encouraging message and learned what it takes to have a career in the U.S Air Force.

The event was part of new the career exploration opportunities program. It exposes students to professionals who can inspire them to stay in school and create ambitious career goals.

"I hope that will be inspiring to them so that they can live their dreams and set goal based on those dreams," Capt. Jason Curtis said.

"It is really great how much honor they have and how much dedication they've been on the job," student Lyka Lidang said.

The students are part of the After-School All-Stars program which helps keep kids in at-risk schools keep up their grades and stay in school.
