Marathon Sewer Project Starts Friday

The Clark County Water Reclamation District will start a marathon effort to rehabilitate sewer lines starting next week.

The project will force lane closures near the Nellis Boulevard and Desert Inn Road intersection. Crews will be working during the overnight hours over three consecutive weekends in an effort to finish the project quickly.

Starting at 9 p.m. Friday, September 7 and lasting until 9 p.m. Monday, September 10, the inside lanes in each direction on Nellis Boulevard from Valley View Drive to Twain Avenue will be closed. The inside lanes in each direction along Desert Inn Road from Vista Del Monte Drive to Cabana Drive will also be closed. Left turns will be restricted in the Nellis and Desert Inn intersection.

That same closures will return September 14 through September 16, and then again September 21 through September 24. While the work will take place in the overnight hours, the lane restrictions will stay in place even when crews are not working.

Crews will be working to replace sewer lines and manholes.
