Skate Park Coming to Jaycee Community Park

The city of Las Vegas will be breaking ground Monday on a new skate park at Justice Myron E. Leavitt and Jaycee Community Park at Eastern and East St. Louis avenues.

When finished, the park will feature a 12,000 square feet area for skateboarders to use, and it will be lit for nighttime use.

The city is also adding shade canopies for the horseshoe and bocce courts and improved lighting for walkways. The horseshoe, bocce and shuffleboard courts will be closed during canopy construction.

The money for the construction is coming from the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act funds.

Construction is expected to be finished by July.
