LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities say two police officers driving an inmate to jail were seriously injured in a crash at a Las Vegas intersection.

Police say the crash happened about 4 p.m. Sunday on Charleston Boulevard at Arlington Street, after a Toyota RAV4 apparently made a left turn in front of the police cruiser.

Investigators say the officers' Crown Victoria hit the front passenger side of the SUV before running into a block wall.

The two officers and the driver of the RAV4 were taken to University Medical Center, but were released later in the evening.

The inmate suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment at the scene. He was taken to the Clark County Detention Center in another police vehicle.
