U.S. 95 South Reopens at Eastern After Crash

LAS VEGAS -- U.S. 95 southbound reopened for traffic at Eastern Avenue around 11 a.m. The highway was closed for most of the morning due to an accident involving three semi-trucks and 14 vehicles.

The accident happened shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday. Traffic was being diverted to exit at Las Vegas Boulevard.

Nevada Highway Patrol reports three people were transported to the hospital, but none of the injuries appeared to be life threatening. Trooper Jeremie Elliott says a semi-truck crash started a chain reaction that led to the other accidents. He says at least three semi-trucks were involved on the southbound side, and at least one was involved on the northbound lanes.
