February is American Heart Month and Sunrise Hospital is doing its part by holding a heart health symposium this weekend.

The symposium will focus on the signs and symptoms of heart disease, along with the treatment options. The event is free to the public.

From 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Doctors Kathy Benson and Arjun Gururaj will give a presentation on heart disease. They'll explain the risks, warning signs and treatments. They will also discuss the differences between warning signs in men and women. Registration is required for the lecture, call (702) 233-5454.

From 10 a.m. to noon, the hospital will hold a heart health fair. Nurses and other medical professionals will be on hand to discuss several problems, including heart valve, strokes, and weight loss.
