Springs Preserve Hosts Children's Festival

Springs Preserve will host its second annual Día del Niño festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 9.

The festival offers fun for children of all ages, including clowns and magicians, dancing and singing groups, and interactive games including a live soccer match, as well as traditional Mexican food and drink, hands-on arts and crafts workshops and a magical theatrical rendition of the "Wizard of Oz." Children can also participate in Telemundo TV-39's "sustainable" talent show.

Celebrated worldwide at various times throughout the year, notably in countries such as Mexico, Día del Niño is all about the little ones. Visit www.springspreserve.org or call 822-7700 for more information. Tickets can be purchased in advance online and will cost $1 less than at the door.

Colliers International Hosts Charity Golf Tournament

Colliers International Hosts Charity Golf Tournament

Colliers International will hold its 16th Annual Links for Life Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday, May 5 at Las Vegas Country Club.

All proceeds raised through sponsorship, foursomes and donations, result in a direct contribution to Links for Life Foundation beneficiaries – Southern Nevada’s children in need.

The Links for Life Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit charitable organization, and over the past 15 years, the Foundation has donated $2,100,000 to local children’s charities. Quite often donations from Links for Life serve as the bridge between what a charity has already raised and the realization of a specific goal here in southern Nevada.

To help, Colliers International requests you become a sponsor or participant in the Links for Life Golf Tournament. They are also accepting donated auction items and packages for live and silent auctions, as well items for a raffle.

With questions, please contact Gina Jones at 735-5700.

Thousands of people line the downtown parade route every year, and the parade is also broadcast live by Cox Communications on cable channel 96 and streamed online at http://www.cox96.net/. KCLV Channel 2 will re-broadcast the parade in the following days. A fireworks show will be launched from the Fremont Street Experience parking garage immediately after the parade.
