Latinos and education will be the focus of a town hall planned for Saturday.

The Latino Leadership Council will host the town hall, which is set to start at 10:30 a.m. at the East Las Vegas Community and Senior Center.

The discussion will be hosted by Fernando Romero, the state director of National Council of La Raza. The panel will also include Boyd School of Law professor Sylvia Lazos and former Clark County School Board Chair Larry Mason.

Recent studies show that the graduation rate for Hispanic students in Clark County is among the lowest with fewer than 50 percent of students graduating on time.

The town hall is free and open to all members of the community.
