One southern Nevada elementary school is ending the school year $11,000 richer.

Crestwood Elementary School won the My School is Cool program at Meadows Mall. The kids earned points by shopping at the mall between November and May, and then turning the receipts over to the school coordinator. The school with the most points received the grand prize.

Meadows Mall presented the check to Crestwood Elementary School Thursday. Principal Kalandra Sheppard says the money will be used to save programs the kids love.

"The kids and our staff are winners. We are up to the challenge, whether it is something like the challenge of getting receipts to receive points to receive money or the challenge of being high achieving in the classroom," Sheppard said.

Three other schools also received money. E.W. Griffith Elementary School received $5,000, Kit Carson College Prep received $2,500 and Bridger Middle School received $1,500.
