Police Search for Robbery Suspect

 

Metro Police have updated information on a robbery suspect they are still searching for.

Police say the man robbed a bank in the area of Desert Inn Road and McLeod Drive. The robbery happened around 10:15 a.m. October 24. The suspect walked into the bank carrying a short-barrel shotgun. He pointed the gun at the employees and demanded money. Eyewitnesses described the man has being highly agitated during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a black man between 25 and 30 years old. He is between 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-6 and weighing 150 pounds. He has long, black, braided hair that may have been a wig. He was last seen wearing a dark colored jump suit with double wide stripes on the sides and a multicolored knit cap.

The police also can now say that the man left the scene in a green, 1990s Chevrolet sedan.

Metro Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank near East Desert Inn Road and Nellis Boulevard.

The crime happened just before 5:30 p.m., Tuesday. The suspect walked into the business then went to the banking counter. He showed the teller a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. The clerk put money into the man’s bag, and he left the bank. Eyewitnesses saw him jump a wall into a nearby apartment complex and get into a car.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, sunglasses and a black, long-sleeve shirt with white dragon print down the right sleeve. The shirt also had a white design on the right front chest area.

Metro Police will operate a pair of sobriety events during the upcoming pre-Halloween weekend.

On October 28, officers near the Bolden Area Command will be conducting a checkpoint between the hours of 7 pm and 5 am near Valley View and Desert Inn. On October 29, a saturation patrol looking for impaired drivers will be held between the hours of 7 pm and 3 am in the area of Desert Inn and Paradise.  There have been 61 calls for service related to drunk drivers from April 2011 to September 2011 in this area.

Police Search for Pot Belly Bandit

Metro Police are searching for a robbery suspect they are calling the Pot Belly Bandit.

The man committed three robberies in the Southeast in just a matter of weeks. The first crime happened September 16 just after 10 a.m., outside a business near Desert Inn Road and Nellis Boulevard. Police say the suspect robbed a person leaving the business.

In the second crime, which happened a few minutes after the first, the suspect robbed a convenience store near Desert Inn Road and Maryland Parkway. The final robbery happened October 8 around 10 a.m., at a convenience store near Desert Inn Road and Nellis Boulevard.

In each case, the suspect used a handgun and demanded money. Once he received the cash, he left the area.

The suspect is described as a white man, 40 to 50 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 and about 270 pounds. During the last robbery, he was wearing a blue baseball cap, a bandana around his neck, a blue and red pullover, gray pants and brown shoes.

Metro Police are looking for help in tracking down the suspects in an armed robbery at a local park.

Officers say the victim was sitting in a park near Lamb Boulevard and Colorado Avenue just before 9 p.m. on September 16. The suspects approached the man and pointed a gun at him. They demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied and the suspects ran.

A few days later, two women used the victim’s debit card at a convenience store on North Lamb Boulevard. Detectives are looking for any information about the women or the suspects.

The suspects are both Hispanic men. The first is between 17 and 20 years old, 5-foot-6, and 160 to 165 pounds. He was armed with a black handgun. The second suspect is between 16 and 19 years old, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-5, and 160 pounds.

Police Search for Kidnapping and Robbery Suspect

Metro Police are searching for a man who kidnapped and robbed an elderly woman.

The robbery happened almost two weeks ago near Maryland Parkway and Sahara Avenue. Police say around 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, the suspect got into the victim's car and forced her to drive to a nearby ATM. He told her to make two withdrawals and told her to drive back to where they had left from. Once at the intersection, the man took the money and got out. The woman was not hurt.

The suspect is described as a white man, 30 to 40 years old, 5 foot 5 inches tall, 160 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes and a goatee. Anyone with information about the robbery or suspect call Metro Police Robbery Division at 828-3591 or to leave an anonymous tip call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
