Police Looking for Bus Pickpocket

Metro Police are looking for a man who stole money from a fellow passenger on a public bus.

According to police, the man was riding a Regional Transportation Commission bus near Nellis Boulevard and Boulder Highway at about 4:42 p.m. March 29, when he tried to pick the pocket of a fellow rider.

The victim tried to stop the man, but he was pushed to the floor. The man then grabbed money from the victim and fled the bus on foot.

The man is described as a black male about 25 to 35 years old. He is between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10 with a thin build. He is between 150 and 160 pounds. He is unshaven and was wearing a striped button up, long sleeved shirt and dark jeans.

Man Charged with Arson in Connection with Early Morning Fire

 

A Las Vegas man is being charged with arson after an early morning fire Friday at an apartment complex.

At 5 a.m., Metro Police received several calls about a resident of the Siegel Suites Paradise at 2000 Paradise Road. Callers told police that someone was breaking windows and throwing things out of the window.

When police arrived on scene, they saw smoke coming from one of the apartments. Officers immediately called fire crews from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue and the Clark County Fire Department.

Firefighters went into the apartment and found a fire in the stove that had been extinguished by an automatic fire sprinkler. Fire investigators determined the fire in the stove started when clothes were set on top of the stove and the burners turned on.

According to fire investigators, the occupant of the apartment was the person who put the clothes on the stove and turned it on.

Metro Police are looking for a man in connection with the armed robbery of a business near Desert Inn Road and McLeod Drive.

According to police, the man walked into the business at about 7:30 March 1. He approached an employee, showed him a handgun and demanded money.

The employee complied, and the man was last seen running from the area on foot.

Police are looking for a black man between 18 and 25 years old. He is 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing yellow and black striped knitted cap, gray letterman jacket and blue jeans.

Metro Police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store near Sahara Avenue and Lamb Boulevard January 6.

According to police, the suspect walked into the store at about 6:20 a.m. He climbed over the counter, pointed a handgun at the employees and demanded money.

The employees gave the man money and he left the business.

Police are looking for a black man in his early 20s. He is 5-foot-5 with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black and orange knit cap with a Denver Broncos emblem, gray varsity-type jacket with black leather sleeves, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

Police Search for 2 People in Robbery

 

Metro Police is looking for two people who robbed a woman in the driveway of her home.

According to police, the victim had just pulled into her home near Vegas Valley Drive and Nellis Boulevard at about 4 a.m. December 29, when two people walked up to her pushed her and grabbed her purse.

The victim's credit card was used by two people following the robbery. The two people were seen in a pickup truck that didn't have a tailgate.

Police Search for Men who Robbed Cabbie

Metro Police are looking for two men in connection with the robbery of a taxi cab driver.

According to police, the men got into the cab near Paradise Road and Convention Center Drive just after 10:30 p.m. October 25. They asked the driver to take them 4200 block of Tamarus Street, but when they got there, one of the men put a metal object to the back of the driver’s neck, police said.

The man told the driver that it was a gun and demanded money. The driver complied, and the men left the cab.

The robbers are described as Hispanic men in their 20s. They are about 5-foot-11. They were last seen wearing a dark blue hoodie with a light colored liner and dark pants.
