Police Search for Pot Belly Bandit | Crime
Metro Police are searching for a robbery suspect they are calling the Pot Belly Bandit.
The man committed three robberies in the Southeast in just a matter of weeks. The first crime happened September 16 just after 10 a.m., outside a business near Desert Inn Road and Nellis Boulevard. Police say the suspect robbed a person leaving the business.
In the second crime, which happened a few minutes after the first, the suspect robbed a convenience store near Desert Inn Road and Maryland Parkway. The final robbery happened October 8 around 10 a.m., at a convenience store near Desert Inn Road and Nellis Boulevard.
In each case, the suspect used a handgun and demanded money. Once he received the cash, he left the area.
The suspect is described as a white man, 40 to 50 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 and about 270 pounds. During the last robbery, he was wearing a blue baseball cap, a bandana around his neck, a blue and red pullover, gray pants and brown shoes.
