County Fire Department to Host Open House

The Clark County Fire Department is hosting an open house Saturday, August 10 at Fire Station 33, which is on Desert Inn Road between Paradise Road and Maryland Parkway.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., residents can come to the fire station for free health screenings and low-cost immunizations. There will also be information on back-to-school safety.

There will also representatives from other county agencies, local nonprofits and the district attorney's office.

The fire department will have its fire safety house on display, which teaches kids how to get out of a smoke-filled home safely. Metro Police will also be there with McGruff, the crime dog.

“We appreciate the support of Clark County Firefighters Local 1908 and our community partners in hosting our open houses and helping us to make them a success,” said Clark County Fire Chief Bertral Washington. “Last year’s event in August drew more than 400 children. It’s a marvelous opportunity to provide important life-safety information to children and their parents.”
