Las Vegas named top trade show town 20th year in a row

Las Vegas has been named the number 1 destination for trade shows for the 20th consecutive year, according to the Trade Show News Network.

The network says Las Vegas hosted 53 of the largest trade shows in the country last year. Those shows accounted for more than 31 percent of the total space used by all of the 250 top trade shows scheduled in 2013.

The largest show was the Consumer Electronics Show, which accounted for 1.9 million square feet of convention space.

"We are proud of our standing as the top trade show destination for a historic two decades," said Rossi Ralenkotter, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. "Maintaining the No. 1 ranking is a collaborative effort and a testament to all of the hard working people who make Las Vegas a premier business destination year after year."

In 2013, more than 22,000 meetings were held in Las Vegas, which brought 5.1 million delegates to the city and had an economic impact of $7.4 billion. According to the LVCVA, 61,200 jobs were supported by the trade show and convention business.
