A legend in Latin jazz will be playing at the Winchester Cultural Center this month.

Joe Torres will be at the center at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 14. Torres will be joined by six friends for a concert featuring some of his greatest songs.

Torres first made a name for himself with the first hit record in the Latin jazz genre in 1967. Since then, he has worked towering figures in the jazz world, including Celia Cruz and Dizzy Gillespie.

Torres has also spent several years teaching in the UNLV music department.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 the day of the show. They can be purchased at the cultural center or online at clarkcountynv.gov/parksregistration
