Bars targeted by armed robbers, bartenders worry about safety

A series of robberies has some valley bartenders on edge. Police said armed men recently targeted three small bars in east Las Vegas, and they may be connected.

The first robbery happened at Old Vegas Tavern near the intersection of E. Desert Inn Road and S. Sandhill Road. The second robbery occurred near S. Nellis and E. Charleston boulevards. The third incident happened on Nellis Boulevard near Desert Inn Road.

8 News NOW was first alerted to the robberies when some of the bartenders reached out to 8 News NOW because they were concerned for their safety. There are even surveillance photos of the crime circulating in a Facebook group made up of local bartenders and servers.

One of the staff members at Old Vegas Tavern, the first place hit by robbers, told 8 News NOW two men with handguns came in and robbed the bar. The witness says they think a woman may have been canvassing the bar.

On Sunday morning, robbers struck Dylan's Sports Pub before hitting Dylan's Double-Duce hours later. Dylan's Double-Duece was robbed around 12:45 p.m. \

The bartender told 8 News NOW, two men came in while she was working. She said the men pulled out handguns and demanded money, but the bartender said she didn't give it to them.

Metro Police are investigating all three robberies. Detectives say they do not think Saturday's robbery is related to the two that happened on Sunday, but they're not completely ruling out that theory.

There wasn't any other information released.

8 News NOW reached out to representatives from each establishment, but they declined to give a comment or statement.

Anyone with information on these crimes are asked to call police.
