Residents still shaken up over vehicle that crashed into home

A valley family experienced a terrifying moment Tuesday night when a car crashed through their home.

It happened near the intersection near Cabana Drive and E. Twain Avenue. Police said people were inside the home, in bed, when it happened. A portion of one of the walls of the home was comptely destroyed. That area's been boarded up, but the homeowner will have to fix the house before they can move back into the property.

The driver of the car was hurt in the crash and taken to the hospital, but she's expected to be okay. Another woman inside the home when it happened received some scrapes from the wreck, but she was treated at the scene.

Metro Police believes the driver may have been impaired at the time of the crash. No word on charges.
