Police: Suspect stabs woman, crashes car into convenience store

Metro Police are investigating a deadly stabbing that ended with a car crash.

It all started at an apartment complex on Spencer Street near Tropicana Avenue. Police say a man stabbed his girlfriend to death, stole her car, and crashed it through the complex's gate.

Investigators say the man, who was naked, then crashed into the 7-Eleven at the intersection of Spencer and Tropicana.

A good Samaritan saw the crash and went to help, but was attacked by the man, police said.

Man accused of 2013 double homicide arrested in Mississippi

The suspect in a 2013 homicide was arrested, police said.

Christopher Green, 32, has been extradited from Mississippi where he was serving a sentence at the Yazoo Correctional Facility.

Police said on Oct. 21, 2013, Green was involved in a shooting in the 5100 block of East Sahara Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, patrol officers discovered two men who had been shot and killed.

Detectives said it all started with an argument between two groups of people. The gunfire later ensued.

Police said 28-year-old Michael Dunbar and 29-year-old Teray Shaney-Lyles were shot. An arrest report says Dunbar was allegedly shot as he was fleeing the scene.

Green was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of open murder and one count of misdemeanor battery. ... Read More

PD: Officer dragged by driver during traffic stop

A Metro Police officer is recovering after getting dragged by a suspect.

It happened around 1:45 p.m. on Desert Inn Road and S. Decatur Boulevard. According to Metro, the officer pulled the driver over before she decided to take off dragging the officer.

The officer was dragged for a short distance, and suffered some minor abrasions and road rash, police said.

The driver was taken into custody a short time later at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Arville Street.

Bars targeted by armed robbers, bartenders worry about safety

A series of robberies has some valley bartenders on edge. Police said armed men recently targeted three small bars in east Las Vegas, and they may be connected.

The first robbery happened at Old Vegas Tavern near the intersection of E. Desert Inn Road and S. Sandhill Road. The second robbery occurred near S. Nellis and E. Charleston boulevards. The third incident happened on Nellis Boulevard near Desert Inn Road.

1 hospitalized after car crashes into apartment building

Metro Police are investigating an incident in which a car crashed into a building.

It happened in the 4800 block of E. Sahara Avenue near Nellis Boulevard around 1:37 p.m.

One person was taken to Sunrise Hospital, but their condition is unknown at this time.

Person stabbed, fire set near Oakey Blvd. and Burham Ave.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescued worked a fire Monday near E. Oakey Boulevard and Burham Avenue.

However, it looks like the fire may have been started to cover up a crime scene.

According to Metro Police, a person who had been stabbed was found in the structure.

There isn't anyone in custody, and there wasn't any information released about the person stabbed.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue said when firefighters arrived at the scene, the house was fully involved with smoke and flames.
