Reality TV celebrity Flavor Flav is going ahead with plans to open a restaurant in Las Vegas.

Months after it was revealed that rapper and reality TV celebrity Flavor Flav was planning to open a chicken restaurant in Las Vegas, the venture reportedly has been finalized.

Metro Police Reminding People to 'See Something, Say Something'

Metro Police is bringing the message of vigilance to its First Tuesday event.

The “See Something, Say Something” campaign is designed to get people to report suspicious activity. Police want to remind people of the critical role the average person has played in safeguarding communities.

First Tuesday starts at 7 p.m., at Metro’s area command centers. After talking about the “See Something, Say Something” program, people will be able to meet with their local police officers.

Convention Center Area Command: 750 Sierra Vista (at Swenson)

Downtown Area Command: 621 North 9th St.

Upcoming Children's Shows Spoof Fairytales


“Teatime with Fairytale Royalty” will be the next production show put on by the students of East Career & Technical Academy.

The children’s show contains a pair of one-act plays, as well as audience interaction and snacks. Both plays spoof traditional fairytales. Shows take place at 2 p.m. March 22, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. March 23, and noon March 24.

General admission tickets cost $8 and reserved seating can be purchased for $12 before March 15, and both include a meal along with the show. Some tickets will be available at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the East Tech Main Office, 6705 E. Vegas Valley.

Police Search for Robbery Suspects


Metro Police are looking for two suspects who robbed a business near Nellis Boulevard and Desert Inn Road last week.  

The suspects walked into the store just after noon, posing as customers. The man then pulled out a gun and demanded money. They took cash from the business along with the employee’s purse. The suspects then fled out the back door.

A short time later, the victim’s debit card was used at two separate convenience stores in the area. Surveillance video captured the female suspect using the victim’s debit card. The suspects’ car was also caught on camera.

The first suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old. He is between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-3 and between 170 and 180 pounds. He has green eyes and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a green camouflage hoodie and dark jeans.

Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration Planned

There is a chance for everyone to celebrate a literary legend and help kids receive the gift of reading.

Spread the Word Nevada is teaming up with Barnes & Noble to throw two birthday parties for Dr. Seuss. The first will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Barnes & Noble store at Sunset Road and Stephanie Street in Henderson. The second will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the Barnes & Noble store at Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Road.

There will be cake, hats and, of course, books. Spread the Word Nevada is reminding everyone to mention the organization when buying a book during the event. When customers say they are supporting the nonprofit, a portion of the proceeds will help go to the group.

Town Hall Meeting Planned for Monday

Clark County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani is holding a town hall meeting for everyone in County Commission District E.

The town hall starts at 6 p.m. Monday at John S. Park Elementary School near Charleston Boulevard and Maryland Parkway. Giunchigliani will be joined by Las Vegas City Councilman Bob Coffin and State Assemblyman Tick Segerblom. Staff from several county and city departments will be at the town hall to answer questions.
